How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your MateFate account using one of the following methods:
Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
- Open the MateFate app
- Go to Profile → Settings (gear icon)
- Scroll down and tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision when prompted
- Your account will be permanently deleted
Method 2: Email Request
If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by email:
- Send an email to: [email protected]
- Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
- Include the email address associated with your account
- We will process your request within 7 business days
What Data Will Be Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:
- Your profile information (name, bio, photos)
- Your chat messages and conversation history
- Your match history and preferences
- Your location data
- Your uploaded photos and videos
- Your purchase history (for internal records only)
What Data May Be Retained
Some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes:
- Transaction records (for tax and legal compliance) - retained for up to 7 years
- Reports of safety violations (to prevent abuse) - retained indefinitely
- Anonymized analytics data (cannot be linked back to you)
Important Notes
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
- Any unused Premium subscription or credits will be forfeited
- If you have an active subscription, please cancel it before deleting your account
- Deletion typically completes within 30 days
